CALL FOR EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST FOR NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTORS of ARCHERY AUSTRALIA

Archery Australia is inviting expressions of interest for Director positions on the Board of Archery Australia, the governing body for archery and para-archery in Australia. Three Directors will be elected at the Annual General Meeting on 23 November 2024.

There are over 8,000 registered archers in Australia participating in 130 clubs. Archery has been contested in the Olympic Games since 1900, in the Paralympic Games since 1960 and Australia has competed with distinction since its first appearance in 1972.

Expressions of interest are sought from skilled professionals who have an enthusiasm for the growth and development of Archery in Australia.

The Board has identified, through its skills analysis, that applicants should have the following skills and experience:

An understanding of the application of modern governance principles;
Skills, knowledge or experience in one of more of these areas:

Media, marketing or community engagement
Finance, accounting or audit
Government and/or stakeholder relations
Technology and/or digital innovation
Commercial growth and opportunities
An understanding of the Australian sport sector, with knowledge of participation and/or high performance sport and/or disability sport desirable.

EOIs received will be reviewed by the AA Nominations Committee which may also interview candidates, at its discretion, during late October 2024.

The names and bios of candidates who are recommended to proceed will be provided to Regional Governing Bodies for consideration by 6 November 2024.
