Steve’s experience highlights that archery is more than just a sport, in its potential to promote wellbeing, connection, and hope. ✨

AA would like to congratulate Mr John Womersley OAM on his appointment as a member of the Order of Australia (AM) on the 2026 Australia Day Honours list for service to archery as an officiator and administrator.
A founding member of the Geelong Archery Club and life member of Archery Australia and Archery Victoria, John has been involved with archery for over 60 years.
He has played leading roles as an administrator at club, state and national levels.
He served as a technical delegate at the Melbourne and Sydney Olympic Games and an international judge for World Archery as well as sharing his expertise through national judge and official roles.
His commitment to the sport represents the dedication and commitment of volunteers that we value so much to keep the sport thriving.
