Role Purpose:
The National Compound Coach will be responsible for delivering on Archery Australia’s vision to be highly competitive at the international level with a view to achieving annual performance outcomes.
The National Compound Coach will provide leadership, direction and development of the National Compound Program (NCP) at all levels, inclusive of domestic training camps. They will lead national compound teams at major international events including but not limited to World Cups and World Championships.

Archery Australia is inviting expressions of interest for Director positions on the Board of Archery Australia, the governing body for archery and para-archery in Australia. Three Directors will be elected at the Annual General Meeting on 23 November 2024.
There are over 8,000 registered archers in Australia participating in 130 clubs. Archery has been contested in the Olympic Games since 1900, in the Paralympic Games since 1960 and Australia has competed with distinction since its first appearance in 1972.
Expressions of interest are sought from skilled professionals who have an enthusiasm for the growth and development of Archery in Australia.
The Board has identified, through its skills analysis, that applicants should have the following skills and experience:
An understanding of the application of modern governance principles;
Skills, knowledge or experience in one of more of these areas:
Media, marketing or community engagement
Finance, accounting or audit
Government and/or stakeholder relations
Technology and/or digital innovation
Commercial growth and opportunities
An understanding of the Australian sport sector, with knowledge of participation and/or high performance sport and/or disability sport desirable.
EOIs received will be reviewed by the AA Nominations Committee which may also interview candidates, at its discretion, during late October 2024.
The names and bios of candidates who are recommended to proceed will be provided to Regional Governing Bodies for consideration by 6 November 2024.

Archery Australia (AA) is the governing body for all levels of archery throughout Australia and a recognised member of World Archery and the Australian Sports Commission.

About the Role
Reporting to the Board, the Chief Executive Officer is responsible for leading and managing the team at Archery Australia. This includes overseeing all operational aspects, driving performance objectives, engaging the archery community and ensuring financial sustainability. Working closely with the Board, the CEO plays a critical role in driving positive relationships with key stakeholder groups, both internal and external, collaborating constructively to achieve strategic and operational objectives while fostering a culture of inclusivity, respect, and excellence.
Key Accountabilities
Guided by the 2022-2026 Archery Australia Strategic Plan and the current Operational Plan, implement activities to achieve objectives in the areas of participation and engagement, performance and pathways, governance and structure, capacity and capability.
Take overall responsibility for the daily leadership and management of Archery Australia, including people management, financial management, media/marketing/community engagement, technology and governance support.
Proactively develop positive and productive relationships with a range of stakeholders including the Regional Governing Bodies of Archery Australia, World Archery, the Australian Sports Commission, Australian Institution of Sport, Sport Integrity Australia, the Australian Olympic Committee, Paralympics Australia, Commonwealth Games Australia and relevant members of the National Sports Institute Network.
About You
We are looking for someone with the following skills, qualifications and experience:
Experience leading a team towards a vision, getting key stakeholders on board and embedding behaviours that help deliver the vision.
Experience in managing complex projects and competing agendas to prioritise, manage and deliver outcomes that achieve strategic and operational objectives.
Familiarity with community sport and/or high performance sport programs and the ability to oversee their development and implementation at a national level.
Financial management capabilities, including the ability to interpret and report on financial accounts and make sound financial decisions.
Excellent presentation and communication skills, leading the organisation with strong personal presence, emotional intelligence, and self-awareness.
Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to build relationships with a variety of stakeholders including government agencies.
Confidence with change management, transformation, and project delivery.
