After a long hiatus from international competitions, Australia is sending a team to the final Olympic qualification tournament and World Cup 3 in Paris.
Congratulations to Laura Paeglis (VIS) and Alice Ingley (QAS) who will be competing at the Final Qualification Tournament in Paris and David Barnes (SASI), Taylor Worth (QAS) and Ryan Tyack (QAS) who will join Alice and Laura for World Cup 3 also in Paris
Tokyo Olympic Games Update
Australia won its 3 male quota spots back in 2019 at the World Championships when our male recurve team shot exceptionally well. After a gruelling Olympic Trials process, David Barnes, Ryan Tyack and Taylor Worth were selected in March 2020 to represent Australia at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
Currently, Australia does not have a female Olympic quota spot so is heading to the Final Qualification Tournament (FQT)in Paris to secure one.
Final Qualification Tournament
The FQT will take place in Charléty Stadium, Paris from 18-21st June, 2021.
Laura and Alice will compete on 21 June for an individual female spot at Tokyo 2020. If a spot is secured, Australia will only be able to send one archer to Tokyo for the Olympic Games.
About The World Cup
Our archers will then go on to compete at the World Cup 3 from 22 to 27 June, 2021. As their first international level competition in nearly 18 months, it will be great preparation before the Tokyo Olympic Games.

Olympic Games Update
The archery section of the Tokyo Olympic Games will take place from 23-31 July. Instead of our archers coming back to Australia and being required to enter the 2-week mandatory quarantine period, they will instead be finishing their preparation at a training camp at the World Archery Centre of Excellence in Lausanne, Switzerland.
COVID-19 Procedures
After discussions with the Australian Olympic Committee, the Australian Institute of Sport and World Archery and their respective health experts, the Archery Australia Board decided to send archers to Paris and onwards to Tokyo.
The health of our athletes and support staff is a priority. They have all received the COVID-19 vaccine and will follow strict COVID-19 protocol for the entire time they are overseas.
