BIOGRAPHY:

My name is Madeline Boyle.
My archery journey started in late 2011 at Penrith City Archers, NSW. I competed as a compound archer for 8 years before changing to recurve in September 2019. After multiple national titles and records in the compound scene, I decided to make the transition to recurve after the 2019 Spain Youth World Championships. I also made the move to Victoria during this time. In 2020 I won the Sydney Indoor World Cup which was only 4 months after picking up recurve. Unfortunately due to covid, I was unable to compete in any further tournaments until 2021 which was the Australian Open in April. I managed to win the Bronze at this event for individuals and teams. This was a pivotal point in my recurve debut as I had proven myself against the best in Australia. At the end of 2022, I managed to qualify for the HP trials in 2023. In January 2023 I secured my position in the national team and competed in the Asia Cups #1 and #3, as well as the world cups #1 and #4 in Shanghai and Paris. I was extremely proud of my performance at Asia Cup #1 where I managed to rank 3rd and individually finished 5th in my matches. Together with my teammates Laura Paeglis and Sarah Haywood, we secured a Bronze medal in the team’s event. I have learned an incredible amount over the last 6 months, more than I could have ever thought. I will use everything I’ve learned to improve in 2023 and to aim even higher in 2024.
In my spare time, I work early mornings at a Cafe in Frankston, do crazy bike rides, run, lift weights and attempt to do triathlons. I’m so proud of the life I have built myself down here in Frankston, VIC. I visit friends and family in NSW when I can, but adore the community I have here in Frankston who are so incredibly supportive.
