WAFC Day 2 Updates

In Male Barebow Michael Fisher and Simon Fairweather are both in the top 16 and progress to the 1/8 match play eliminations tomorrow. Ci Amarillo shot well to finish in 26th place and is very happy with his first international. Nicky Fairweather and May Hu maintained their positions and are through to the round of 16. Hugo Lob and Judah Homes remained in the top 4 and have byes for their first matches before shooting in the 1/4 round of matchplay.

Chris Jackson again shot very well and is in 2nd place so he too receives a bye before heading into the 1/4 round.
None of the male compounders were disappointed with their shooting today with Jay Moylan shooting a handy 404, Jarrah King a 397 and Harry Neve a 396. These guys finished in 27th, 28th and 31st place respectively and put up a good showing against the best in the world. While Alyssa Mollema wasn’t able to repeat her scores from yesterday she felt she shot well and the experience of shooting a World Field Championships has been positive.
The U21 Male compounders again shot very well. Alban Thornycroft is still battling illness but again dropped a wonderful PB score of 405 to finish in 5th position. Josh Turner was again solid today with a 396 to qualify in 11th position and secure a spot in the 1/8 round.
Lexie Feeny dropped a few places early in the day but rallied in her second half to maintain her 14th position and secured a spot in the 1/8 eliminations. Alex Smith and Ryan Tyack maintained spots in the top 16 to ensure that they shoot tomorrow in the 1/8 elimination matches. Kane Wilson shot well but unfortunately wasn’t able to make it into the top 16
Our male team narrowly missed a place in the final. 8 by 5 points.
Our female team of Alyssa, Lexie and Nicky qualified in 5th spot and go up against France on Friday.
Our U21 male team of Alban, Chris and Hugo qualified in 1st place so have secured a spot in the semi finals on Friday.
Nicky and Micheal qualified in 5th spot in the Barebow Mixed team event and also shoot on Friday
Ryan and Lexie managed to secure 8th position in the Recuurve Mixed team so we will also see them in action on Friday in the team match play event
