Archery Australia is pleased to announce Gina Rees as the new General Manager of High Performance.
Gina brings an impressive background in high-performance sport management, having worked across hockey, wheelchair basketball, snowsports, rugby sevens, and football. She has played an integral role in shaping elite sports programs, most recently serving as General Manager for the Matildas at Football Australia.
Throughout her career, Gina has worked closely with elite teams and athletes, leading them through some of the world’s biggest sporting events. She was part of the planning and execution of the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023, an event that transformed Australian sport. She also achieved a career milestone by being part of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, supporting athletes on the world stage.
Now, Gina is set to bring her expertise to archery, focusing on building strong, sustainable high-performance programs that will develop talent into medal contenders on the road to Brisbane 2032.
“I’m really looking forward to implementing the High Performance Strategy and achieving success at major tournaments. My vision is always to support the person first, ensuring they have world-class programs and support around them to reach their full potential,” Gina said.
One of her key priorities is strengthening the link between participation and high performance, ensuring clear pathways for athletes to progress to the elite level.
While new to archery, Gina is eager to immerse herself in the sport and build strong connections within the community.
“I love working with great people and am excited to be part of Archery Australia’s journey towards Brisbane 2032,” she added.
