Connecting Defence Communities Through Archery – Archery Australia & Invictus Australia Partnership

This past weekend in Canberra, Archery Australia was proud to once again stand alongside Invictus Australia at the fourth annual Defence Community Sport Expo. Hosted at Tuggeranong Archery Club, the event welcomed over 500 members of the defence community and their families, offering them the chance to experience a wide variety of sports—including archery.

Through our ongoing partnership with Invictus Australia, Archery Australia is committed to fostering meaningful connections for veterans, serving defence personnel, and their families. Archery provides not only an accessible and inclusive sporting opportunity, but also a powerful avenue for focus, resilience, and community.

A special thank you goes to Tuggeranong Archery Club for their incredible support, hosting the archery experience for the fourth year in a row. Their hospitality and dedication continue to create a welcoming environment where members of the defence community can try something new, meet likeminded people, and feel part of a larger community.

The day was made even more special with visits from David Smith MP, Member for Bean, and Senator David Pocock, who attended alongside his family. Senator Pocock highlighted the importance of initiatives like Invictus Australia and its partners, stating:
“Love the work that Invictus Australia is doing in actually creating those meaningful connections, not just for veterans, but for their families too.”

At Archery Australia, we are proud to contribute to this mission—using sport as a tool to break down barriers, encourage mental wellbeing, and support those who serve or have served.

We’re grateful to Invictus Australia, Tuggeranong Archery Club, and all our partners who make these opportunities possible. If you’re interested in getting involved with archery or other local sporting activities through Invictus Australia, visit: https://lnkd.in/dc6gZ9R5
