BIOGRAPHY:

I think my journey in starting archery was bound to happen considering my dad has been competing in the sport since he was 12 and my grandfather (now coach) has represented and coached international teams countless times. It’s a funny story because Dad has been shooting for my whole life, however, I thought it was the most boring sport in the world. This was until I tried it for myself at school camp, thinking I would like to give this a proper go, just like dad. I completed my ‘come and try’ day at Armidale Archers on my 11th birthday, and the rest is history. I have always had the dream of representing Australia at the Olympic Games in archery, which is one that I still have to this day. Although, now I am just focusing on one event at a time, hoping to create as many opportunities for myself as possible. I graduated school in 2021 deciding I wanted to give my everything to archery (and I thought I was). However, it wasn’t until competing at the World Archery Youth Championships in July this year that really gave me perspective on how much more work was to be done and a new level of hunger inside of me grew. I’m now working 20-30hours a week at my local woolies to fund my archery, while training 25+ hours a week. I am also a qualified zumba instructor running 1-3 classes weekly. Additionally, I am about to start my degree in a Bachelor of Business, majoring in Events Management at Torrens University (online). My proudest archery moments would have to include representing the country at the WAYC and being undefeated in state (nsw) and national field championships in the opens division for all of 2022 and 2023. In addition to this, I placed second in every individual event at the National Target Championships and Australian Open last year (in the opens division), which is something that I am very proud of. I am beyond excited to continue pushing myself as the level of competition continues to rise and take inspiration from those doing better than me.
