The 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games are just around the corner on 23 July – 8 Aug 2021 and we’re excited!
Australian Archers Competing In Tokyo
Australia will have four archers competing in Tokyo – David Barnes, Ryan Tyack, Taylor Worth and Alice Ingley. They were the first athletes of the Australian team to arrive in the Olympic Village in Tokyo.
With the newly introduce mixed matchplay, there are 5 gold medals up for grabs in Tokyo. Our archers will compete across 4 events – individual male & female, male team and mixed team.
At the Olympics, the archers will shoot a ranking round of 72 arrows at 70m. After this, athletes will progress into a head to head matchplay competition, where the winner moves on and the looser is eliminated until an Olympic Champion is crowned.
We’re excited to see what the Tokyo 2020 Olympics has in store for our Australian archers.
Archery Schedule In Tokyo
With just a small time difference between Australian and Japan, it’s even easier to tune in and cheer on our Australian athletes at the Olympic Games. For the Tokyo Olympic Games, we have broken down the time difference for Australia:
- Australian Eastern Standard Time is 1 hour in front of Tokyo
- Australian Central Standard Time is 30 minutes in front of Tokyo
- Australian Western Standard Time is 1 hour behind Tokyo
