SOPA Challenge Series #1 Coin Runners

All archers will be shooting a AA20/900 and AA30/900. (At 20m and 30m, 90 arrows)

All Barebow shoot 20m on a 122 cm face. AA20/900

All Recurve archers and U14 compound shoot 30m on a 122 cm face. AA30/900

All other compound archers shoot 30m on a 80cm 6 ring face. AA30/900

Archers will shoot 6 arrows each end within 180 seconds

After completing the 90 arrows, archers will be divided equally into separate divisions based on their total score.

All archers will then compete in a “Coin Runner Challenge”

The Coin Runner Challenge

The aim of the coin runner challenge is to gain as many coins as you can after 10 ends.  Each archer will be given 10 coins to begin with.

In each end, archers will shoot 3 arrows in 60 seconds like matchplay in their bow type distance from the ranking round.  In each end, the archer with the lowest score will lose a coin to the archer with the highest score in their respective division.

If there are more than one archer with the lowest score, all lowest score archers will lose their coin to the archer with the highest score.  However, if there are more than one highest score archer, the archer with an arrow closest to the “X”, will win the coin/s.

There will be ONLY ONE coin winner in each end gaining coins from multiple coins losers.

For example, if there were 3 archers scoring 20 with 3 arrows which is the lowest score, then all 3 archers will lose their coins to the highest score archer in that division.

If there were 3 lowest score archers and 2 highest score archers, to determine who take all the coin for that end will be the highest score archer with an arrow closest to “X”

At the end of 10 ends the archers placing will be determined by the number of coins they have left.  If there is a tie, then the tie breaking in placings will be determine by a one arrow shoot off.

Medals and Awards

Medals will be awarded to the winners of each division in 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions.

This is an AA registered event, Australian and State records are claimable as per age division distance.
