Archery Australia welcomes funding boost from PARIS 2024 OLYMPIC AND PARALYMPIC preparation fund

July 26, 2023

Archery Australia is thrilled to announce that we will benefit from the Australian Government’s Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Preparation Fund. This generous funding initiative, designed to enhance the medal potential and improve the performance of our athletes, comes as welcome news ahead of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The much-needed funds will directly support our high-performance programs, assist in the organization of local and international training camps, and facilitate our teams’ participation in international competitions.

Speaking on the announcement, Archery Australia High Performance Manager Graeme Rose said, “We would like to thank our principal partner the Australian Institute of Sport, and Federal Minister for Sport Anika Wells for providing a boost in funding to assist our athletes with their preparation for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games and Paralympic Games. The additional funding directed specifically to our preparation for Paris will ensure that our athletes are given the best possible chance to perform at their best in Paris. The Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Preparation Fund will relieve some of the direct pressures on our Olympic and Paralympic programs brought about by the significant increase in international travel costs since COVID.”

This additional funding from the Australian Government not only underlines its ongoing commitment to support and foster sports but also to promote a culture of excellence, encouraging more Australians to follow in the footsteps of our Olympians and Paralympians.
