Perth To No Longer Host The 2021 World Youth Championships

It is with extreme disappointment Archery Australia announces the 2021 World Youth Championships will no longer be held in Perth in October.

Reasons to Cancel The Tournament In Perth

It was a very tough decision made by the organising committee but unfortunately the current Australian border restrictions and the travel regulations in Western Australia impacted the feasibility of the 2021 World Youth Championships being hosted in Perth.

The event would have brought youth archers along with their coaches and support crews from all over the world and during the COVID-19 Pandemic this was not a risk the local authorities were willing to take.

Thank You For The Opportunity

Archery Australia was thrilled when World Archery announced Archery WA was to host the tournament. To host the next generation of archers on Australia soil would have been such a privilege, not to mention showcase our great country on the international stage.

Archery Australia is very appreciative of all the work Archery WA and Tourism WA put into hosting this tournament. Without a dedicated team of volunteers and sponsors, events of this scale would not be successful so thank you. Archery Australia would like to thank World Archery for their support and understanding with this event and we look forward to working with them on potential future opportunities.

World Archery will be announcing the new location of the 2021 World Youth Championships shortly.
