This National Volunteer Week (19–25 May 2025), Archery Australia is proud to join the Australian Sports Commission and Volunteering Australia in celebrating the incredible individuals who make our sport possible — our volunteers.
From scoring rounds and setting up ranges to mentoring juniors and keeping clubs running behind the scenes, volunteers are the heart of Australian archery. Their generosity, passion, and dedication connect communities and ensure that archery remains accessible, inclusive, and welcoming to all.
This Year’s Theme: Connecting Communities
The theme for National Volunteer Week 2025 is ‘Connecting Communities’, recognising the vital role volunteers play in bringing people together through sport. Whether it’s a weekend club shoot or a national championship, every archery event is made possible by the tireless efforts of volunteers who give their time without expectation.
To align with this year’s campaign, the Australian Sports Commission has launched an interactive Volunteer Map at volmap.ausport.gov.au. This platform highlights sport volunteers across the country, sharing their stories and making their contributions visible — from the city to the outback.
We encourage everyone in the archery community to nominate a volunteer, explore the map, and give 3 cheers for the people behind the scenes who keep our sport moving.

Say Thank You: A small gesture goes a long way — thank a volunteer in your club, post a tribute on social media, or give them a shoutout during training.
