BIOGRAPHY:

Following a serious motorcycle accident in 1986 it wasn’t until 2015 that Pete decided to take up Para Archery. With the help of his friends at Tuggeranong Archery Club, who were instrumental in encouraging and helping him to try all forms of archery, he soon set his sights on target archery.

In 2016 he shot his first National Para Championships and in 2017 competed at his first World Para Championships for Australia. In 2021 he was proud to represent his country at the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics as the oldest member of the Australian team.

Some official highlights along the way would include a team silver medal, along with Jonathon Milne and Kevin Faulkner, at the Olbia 2018 Para Archery European Circuit.
An individual 2nd at the 5th Fazza Para Archery World Ranking Tournament in Dubai 2019, after defeating Paralympic medallist and world record holder Alberto Simonelli in matchplay the day after he set the record.
Gold at the Final Qualifier for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games in Czech Republic 2021.

Pete’s personal highlights include improving mental health and the camaraderie of shooting with a great bunch of teammates striving to do the best we can.
The journey _IS_ the destination!
