Please note that due to the unprecedented challenges experienced in 2020 with the COVID-19 pandemic and uncertainty surrounding international competition in 2021, the 2021 international calendar may change which will potentially effect team selections.

Update: 2021 World Archery Championships March 2021

Due to the unpredictable nature of COVID outbreaks eg. the current 3 day lockdown in Brisbane, the Selection Committee has determined that the final selection event for this team will be the 2021 Australian Open Championships to be held at Sydney Olympic Park Archers, 20-23 May 2021. There will not be any extra selection events if the 2021 Australian Open proceeds as planned and if the event is cancelled, the Selection Committee will then look at selecting based on all other factors in the published selection documents. If state border restrictions prevent athletes from travelling to and competing at the 2021 Australian Open, this will be taken into account by the Selection Committee when reviewing all athlete performances. For the avoidance of doubt, athletes who do not compete at the 2021 Australian Open are still eligible for selection.

Please note that as stated in the selection document “The unprecedented challenges experienced in 2020 with the COVID-19 pandemic and the uncertainty surrounding international competition in 2021 means there is no  certainty that selected teams will travel. This will be considered on a case by case basis.”  In addition it is highly likely that if the selected team travels to Yankton, all team members will be required to quarantine for 14 days on return. The current cost of quarantine is $3000 per person.
