Last weekend, coaches from across Australia had the chance to collaborate and learn at the Inaugural Pathways and Archery Australia Regional Development Program (AARDP) Coach and Coordinator symposium.

To enable everyone to participate the symposium went digital and overall it was a great success. There was a great mix of content delivered by coaches in the AARDP program as well expert sessions given by:
- Lead Psychologist (Richard Fryer)
- Athlete Welfare and Engagement specialist (Pippa Temperley)
- National Compound Manager (Dr James Park)
- Paralympics Australia Skill Acquisition specialists with our National Para Head Coach Ricci Cheah
About the Symposium
Creator, organiser and facilitator of the Symposium, Robert Turner (High Performance Pathways Manager) said “the day went really well with some great collaboration between coaches and experts. It was the first time we have tried this style of program and it was fantastic to see these talented coaches in our sport sharing their work as well as learning more to develop their skills.”
The symposium was directed at coaches in the AARDP Program or those who work with Paris24 level athletes. For those who could not attend, the recordings and resources have been shared with them.
2022 and Beyond
Plans are already underway for future symposiums in 2022 where the aim is to gather coaches in person (where possible) and to build on the work set out in the first edition.
