Archery Australia to Host Inaugural Classification & Development Weekend

2–3 August 2025 | Belmont, Queensland

Archery Australia is pleased to announce its inaugural Classification & Development Weekend, taking place on Saturday 2 August and Sunday 3 August 2025 in Belmont, Queensland.

This milestone event is designed to advance knowledge, foster inclusion, and support the ongoing development of para-archery across Australia. It is open to all para athletes, coaches, officials, and members of the wider archery community with an interest in inclusive sport.

Location: Queensland Rifle Association, Belmont
Time: 10:00am – 3:00pm

Sunday 3 August 2025
Location: Mount Petrie Bowmen, Belmont
Time: 10:00am – 3:00pm


Program Highlights Include:

  • Athlete classification and medical screening overview

  • Adaptive equipment and wheelchair integration for archery

  • Para-specific strength and conditioning guidance

  • Mental preparation and sports psychology

  • Exercise physiology and load management

  • Education on anti-doping and sports integrity (in partnership with Sports Integrity Australia)

  • Navigating the National Para Pathway (NPP)

  • Paralympic stories and lived experience panels

  • QAS Para Hub and UQ paraSTART program insights

  • Interactive coaching sessions and technical workshops


This event presents a unique opportunity for attendees to engage directly with experts, gain practical knowledge, and build meaningful connections within the para-archery community.
