BIOGRAPHY:

Alec has been involved in Archery since 2008. In 2011 he set the World Record for the 18m round before narrowly missing out on qualifying for the 2012 Olympic Trials as a 15 year old. Becoming the youngest athlete at the time to be awarded a Sport Australia Hall of Fame Scholarship. He has won 10 consecutive “Best All Round” national awards from both Junior and Senior Nationals.

In 2015, he became the only Australian Archer ever to win both Compound and Recurve in a National Championships.
In 2016, he shot the highest Australian international 720 score (so far) with a 685 in the qualifying round of the Shanghai World Cup, he then went on to win an Olympic Bronze Medal in the 2016 Olympics Teams Round, with the help of coach Simon Fairweather.

In 2019 he was one of only a few recurve archers worldwide to shoot a perfect 300 indoor round in competition.

Alec has been working in Archery since 2011 and has introduced over 8000 people to the sport, shooting recreationally from 2016-2022, working with people from all walks of life, as well as volunteering on numerous boards and coaching university teams internationally to promote the sport.
Before coming back to competetive archery in 2023, finishing in 4th at the Nimes Indoor World Cup.
