2022 World University Games Expressions of Interest

Archery Australia is now calling for Expressions of Interest for the 2022 World University Games due to take place later this year in China.

Event Details

The FISU World University Games (WUG) is a bi-annual multi-sport event in which athletes selected by UniSport Australia compete on the international stage.

The next edition of WUG will be conducted in Chengdu, China from 26 June – 7 July 2022.

Eligibility Criteria

For these Games the rules require that to be eligible athletes must:

  • Have been born between 1st January 1997and 31st December 2004
  • Have either been enrolled and currently studying a diploma or higher course at a University, TAFE* (*Conditions Apply) or other tertiary institution (please note that deferred students are not eligible for selection)
  • Graduated from a university in the year immediately prior to the event.
  • In order to confirm eligibility, athletes will need to ensure that they complete the FISU Eligibility Certificate (this document must be signed by the University registrar or equivalent confirming the above requirements and then sealed with the University seal) and then provide the document to UniSport for verification.

The following table indicates the level of scoring expected of Archers who wish to be considered for the 2022 WUG team. Archers who have not achieve the scores below are still encouraged to submit an EOI.

Expressions of Interest

We are now calling for Expressions of Interest from interested Archers who meet the eligibility and selection criteria published in the 2022 World University Games – Nomination Criteria.

Please email your EOI for nomination to the UniRoos team to hppadmin@archeryaustralia.org  The EOI need only confirm that you are interested in being considered for nomination to the team and we will provide further details to those who submit an EOI.

The Archery Australia High Performance Committee, as appointed by the Board of Archery Australia will be the Nomination Committee. The Nomination Committee will nominate athletes to UniSport Australia for selection to the UniRoos team. UniSport Australia will determine which athlete are selected to the UniRoos team.

Note: there is still some uncertainty regarding travel to China in 2022 and there is no certainty that UniSport Australia will send a complete team to Chengdu, although this is the current intention.
