2021 National Championships Cancelled

Archery Australia regretfully advises that the 2021 National Championships has been cancelled due to the ongoing impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic across Australia.

The event was due to be held on 29th September to 4th October at Burnie Bowmen in Tasmania however, with COVID-19 border closures, concerns around a potential snap lockdown over the next few weeks and the safety of athletes, officials, volunteers and coaches in mind it wasn’t feasible for the tournament to go ahead.

Archery Australia, Burnie Bowmen and Archery Tasmania were hopeful the National Championships would go ahead as planned and we were doing everything possible to ensure the tournament wouldn’t be cancelled for a second year in a row, however, due to the current COVID-19 circumstances and the threat of snap lockdowns, it would not have been safe to encourage people to travel from across Australia.

We are very grateful to the host club, Burnie Bowmen, who have put a lot of time and energy into preparing for this tournament.  It takes a community to run a national level event and we thank everyone who has been involved.

We are currently exploring options around an online event and will be sending out details on shortly.

All participants who had registered will receive a refund in the coming weeks and should you have any queries please contact Anthony Maxworthy (amaxworthy@archery.org.au)
